Gate Advisory Committee Meeting Schedule

This committee is open to administrators, teachers, and parents.

      Thursday, October 28, 2010 District Office Board Room, 4:00-6:00 p.m.

      Thursday, February 17, 2011 District Office Board Room, 4:00-6:00 p.m.

      Thuraday, April 28, 2011 District Office Board Room, 4:00-6:00 p.m.

 

On Tuesday April 20, 2010 at the GATE Advisory meeting, GATE Advisory Subcommittees were established. Currently there is room for 20 committee members and 1-2 co-chairs on each subcommittee.

 

Staff, parents, students and interested community members are invited to participate. The intention is to have a variety of stakeholder representation on each subcommittee.

 

Subcommittees are as follows:

  • GATE and Accelerated Programs Entry Criteria
  • Rapid Learner
  • GATE and Accelerated Programs Staff Professional Development
  • Enrichment Options for GATE and High Achieving Students

Middle School Accelerated Programs

 

·         Gifted And Talented Education (GATE)

·         High Achiever (HA)

·         International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program

·         High School Level Classes Offered in Middle School (see below)

 

San Juan Unified School District is proud to offer two International Baccalaureate programs: the Middle Years Program and the Diploma program.

 

At some middle schools students may take high school level courses including algebra, geometry, and foreign language. Students who successfully complete these classes advance to the next course in high school.
