Arcade Middle School changed to the fundamental concept in 1978. Since then it has been the district leader in most areas of academic pursuit.

Arcade Fundamental Middle School is an Open Enrollment school, with students coming from all corners of the district, and for good reason. Arcade has one of the highest API of all the middle schools in Sacramento County at 878 and has been selected as a California Distinguished School three times.
