Arden Middle School Physical Education Make-ups
Our department’s make up policy is based on our philosophy of healthy lifestyles, active living and just getting out and to play. There are many ways to make up missed days in PE
1. Get Out and Play. Each day missed in PE requires 60 minutes of outside activity.
Many of our students are quite active outside of school. They participate on a variety of different teams and clubs. Team/club practices and games can be used as make-up.
If you are a member at a health club/gym or you just like to get out and exercise on your own or with your family you can use workout/exercise time as make up.
Rides and runs. Community fun runs/races and rides are a great way to make up missed days.
A typed summary of the make up activity should include as many specific details as possible (game play, strategy, skills, health related benefits). Parent/coach signature required with date, length of game/practice, and what day they are making up.
2. Supporting your community. Attending local middle school, high school and college sporting events can make up missed days. Supporting friends and former students, rooting for the home team and being a part of the community addresses our standard based curriculum. A typed summary (one page minimum) with date, signature and date making up are required.
3. Research. Any report on current health/nutrition/fitness/sports news can be used for make up. A minimum of one page typed is required.
Please contact your teacher if you have any questions at all about what you can do for making up missed days.
All make up work must be typed, neat, professional and verified with the appropriate dates and adult signatures.
