 KIDS CAN FOOD DRIVE October 12 through November 20 we will be participating in KCRA 3’s Kids Can Food Drive . Support this cause by donating canned and other non-perishable food items to help feed hungry families in our community. Bring the foods you are donating to your first period class between 10/12 and 11/20. Your cans will be collected and counted. The three classes that bring in the most items will receive prizes. ?? The first place class will receive an ice cream and cake party, ?? the second place class will receive doughnuts, and ?? third place will be Fast Passes for every student in the class. ?? So start collecting those cans because this is such a great cause! What food should I donate? · Healthy, non-perishable food · Items with intact, un-opened, consumer or commercial packaging · Items with non-breakable packaging (no glass please) · Food within the expiration date on the packaging What are the most requested food items? · Canned meats like tuna, chicken, turkey, ham, stew and chili · Canned vegetables · Pasta & pasta sauce · Beans · Rice · Healthy cereals · Peanut Butter · Baby food & baby formula Food Drive Tips: · Please collect non-perishable food items only. · Encourage donations from the “most requested” list. · Avoid glass containers. Plastic containers, cans and boxed items are best. · Donations usually assist families, so encourage people to contribute items in sizes they would use at home.
