BELLA VISTA COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

WHAT: The Bella Vista College and Career Center (the CCC) is a valuable center for planning life after high school. Sponsored by the BV PTSA, CCC volunteers work with counselors and staff to provide information and other resources to all students – those who plan to attend a college, those who plan to enter a vocational or occupational training program, and those who just aren’t sure.

WHERE: The CCC is located inside the Bella Vista Library, behind the check-out counter.

WHEN: The CCC is open during library hours mid-September through mid-May. For assistance from trained volunteers, stop by during lunch hours or on CCC Research Nights. Students and parents alike are welcome.

CONTACT: The CCC phone number is 971-5083. After hours, please leave a message and a CCC volunteer will return your call. There is also a message clipboard in the CCC on which you may leave any questions during unstaffed hours.

EVENTS: The CCC holds Research Nights in the fall that provide time for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors – and their parents – to look in-depth at the many options available after high school. A college application writing workshop for seniors and their parents is also offered in the fall.

PUBLICATIONS: The CCC publishes two annual publications: “Beyond High School: A Guide for College Bound BVHS Students and Parents” for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and “Life After High School” for juniors and seniors. CCC newsletters for each class are also published in the fall and spring. These newsletters provide valuable guidelines, information, and “to do’s” for each class of students with respect to exploring, determining, and achieving their post-high school goals. Copies of these publications are available in the CCC and to download below.

COMMUNICATION: The CCC posts a weekly listing of upcoming events (such as admissions testing deadlines; college and career fairs and workshops; college and occupational school open houses, information sessions, and preview days; and financial aid and scholarship opportunities) in the CCC, at the CCC Communication Corner, and on the bulletin boards on campus. Important deadlines and event announcements are also posted in the BV NewsFlash and in the Daily Bulletin. The CCC website provides general information regarding careers, colleges, financial aid and scholarships, as well as downloadable versions of our publications and links to other helpful websites for your exploration.
