Principal's Message

Dear Carnegie Family,

Fall is now officially here, and school days are going by quickly. We have many special events planned for the month of October. October 6th is the kick-off day for our magazine sale.  Please help support our school by purchasing magazines and all of the many other items that are offered at a special rate.  All of the funds from the magazine sale go directly to school activities for this year's students.  You can renew your current subscriptions or buy magazines for someone as a gift.

Other upcoming events include a dance, held on the Octoer 29th. The district HA/IB information night will be hosted by Carnegie on the 22nd.  Carnegie's own information night for incoming 6th graders will be held on the 26th, and for 7th and 8th graders, will be on the 28th.  If you know of any families who are interested in enrolling into Carnegie, please share this information with them. All dates and times for these events are located on our district website calendar.

We are very proud of how are students are doing this year.  We hope to break our record API score of 840! Mr. Bebout, one of our PE teachers, is facilitiating special lunch time activities which the kids are enjoying.  We have also added a new lunch time program called "Scotland Yard" which gives students the opportunity to complete missing assignments.

Our library is open Monday through Wednesday for students to study and receive extra help. We also hope to add an afterschool homework club on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Stay tuned for more information.

Just a reminder - students should carry their ID cards with them at all times. This enables them to check out books and play equipment during lunch.  They also need it to be admitted to the dance without having to pay $5.00 for a temporary card.

We continue to receive donations from parents who help support our school. Paper and Kleenex are always welcome, as is hand sanitizer.

Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Trish Baldwin
