HOME
Welcome to Churchill Middle School! Churchill has much to offer students, including a well-trained and motivated staff dedicated to making sure that Churchill students receive the best education possible. Our commitment is simple – we call it our 4R’s.
Rigor - Churchill is committed to creating and maintaining an academic environment that develops the capacity of ALL students to understand content that is complex, ambiguous, provocative and personally or emotionally challenging.
Relevancy - Churchill is committed to creating and maintaining an academic program that is timely and relevant.
Relationships - Churchill is committed to creating and maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for all students, staff, parents and community members.
Results - Churchill is committed to measurable educational improvements.
While Churchill is known throughout the region for our International Baccalaureate program, we also offer four additional solid academic programs: Accelerated, AVID, Regular Comprehensive Education, and Special Education. Each of our five academic programs consists of rigorous core classes designed to challenge and stimulate each child. Regardless of their program, all students have access to a broad selection of challenging and relevant electives. Our academic programs combined with our school-to-college/career electives give each student a strong educational foundation as they prepare for high school and ultimately enroll in college.
Additionally, I am proud to report that Churchill students routinely score in the top 10% of the schools in the State. At press time, we had one of the highest Academic Performance Indicator’s in the region and our Statewide Similar Schools Ranking of 10 was the highest in the state.
I look forward to working with the staff, parents, students and our Carmichael community to insure that our students are receiving the best education possible. Again, welcome to Churchill!
Sincerely,
Jim Shoemake
