Bulldog Volleyball Page
Volleyball is available for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls. We will form 1 Competition (Comp) team and 2-3 Recreation (Rec) teams. Teams will be formed according to ability level and the number of students interested in playing. In years past we have had a Churchill "A", "B", and even "C" Rec teams if enough girls sign up and now we have 1 Comp team.
Dates: Volleyball is a Fall, 1st quarter sport.
Comp vs Rec Teams: Starting in 2009, Churchill formed a "Comp" team and then several rec teams. In the past we only formed Rec teams. All prospective team members tried out for the Comp team, the coaches selected 12 for the comp team and then the rest were formed into several Rec teams, We expect to do the same in the Fall of 2010. Each team gets it's own coach and practice times and game schedule.
Practice Times: Practices are usually right after school in the MP room. Twice per week. Days of the week depend on which team you are placed... could be Mon/ Wed or maybe Tues/ Thurs.
Locations: All Rec team games will be located at La Sierra Community Center on Fridays. Comp team games will be at another location TBA, also on Fridays. All practices (Rec and Comp) will be held at Winston Churchill right after school.
Coaches: For the 2009 season, Mrs. Bauman coached the Comp team and one of the Rec teams. Mr. Godby coached the 7th grade Rec team and Mrs. Masse coached the 8th grade Rec team. 2010 coaches will be announced at the start of the season.
Uniforms: All team members (Rec and Comp) receive Churchill uniforms. They will be returned at the end of the season.
Fees: The cost to play Volleyball for the 2009 season was $80.00 dollars (2010 fees TBD). You may register on-line HERE! You may pick up a flyer in the office and if you are writing a check, please make it out to Mission Oaks Parks and Recreation (MORP).
