Here are a few links to local clubs, programs, and organizations which help serve the community of Carmichael where Winston Churchill is located. Kiwanis Club of Carmichael - Founded in 1915 and headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kiwanis International is a thriving organization of service- and community-minded individuals who support children and young adults around the world. More than 500,000 Kiwanis-family members in more than 80 countries make their mark by responding to the needs of their communities and pooling their resources to address worldwide issues. Through these efforts, Kiwanis International truly is "Serving the Children of the World."
Carmichael Community Calendar - The calendar has a twofold purpose; 1) promote civic engagement and 2) a community building resource. It is provided to you by the Department of Neighborhood Services designed to facilitate connectivity between residents and their neighborhoods. A place to promote your events, fairs, public meetings, workshops, and open houses of neighborhood or community wide interest. Submissions are encouraged.
Mission Oaks Parks and Recreation - Mission Oaks is dedicated to the courteous and efficient delivery of services for all, providing opportunities for memorable, wholesome, and enjoyable programs and activities in a safe and attractive settings. We foster strong partnerships with the community and schools by involving them in park improvement projects and the development of classes and enrichment programs. Mission Oaks also creates an environment that nurtures and guides future leaders by providing employment and volunteer opportunities in the field of recreation and parks.
La Sierra Community Center - This 37 acre developed community center is located at 5325 Engle Road in Carmichael. The District Sports Office Staff can be reached at (916) 483-7826 M-F 8am - 6pm. Recreational facilities include two gymnasiums (Johnson Gym and the Villareal Gym), outside basketball courts, soccer fields, and the La Sierra Skate Park. The La Sierra Community Center offers a wide-variety of recreational activities throughout the year which include the Kids Hang Out Before and After School Program, Summer Day Camps, Elementary Basketball, and Adult Basketball and Volleyball Leagues.
