Principal's Message 2008-2009

Dear Students and Parents:

Welcome to Coyle Avenue School. The staff and I look forward to working and having fun with you and your child. Our school curriculum is based on California State Standards. It is our goal to do everything we can to have all students achieve grade level standards.

In addition to our curriculum focus, everyone here teaches and lives by our school rules:  Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be on Task, and Be Kind.  We are a Positive Behavior Support (PBS) school and work with PBS trained school psychologists.  Our School Wide Information System (SWIS) allows us to collect data to continually improve school climate and minimize disruptions.

Coyle Avenue School has a Computer Lab, computers in every classroom, internet wiring throughout the school, Alpha Smarts for primary and upper grades, interactive white boards in upper grade classrooms, a presentation station, and Computers on Wheels (COW).

Community bonds are important to our school.   We enjoy a partnership with Mercy San Juan Medical Center who paid for a new drive through.  The Citrus Heights Kiwanis Club sponsors the  Bringing Up Grades (B.U.G.) Program and our K-Kids Club which does community service.  P.B.S. & J., Inc. supports Coyle with a grant that provides science and technology materials.  Health Net has been a valuable supporter through grants for student rewards and counseling coupons.

It is our goal to have as many parents as possible be active members of our educational community. We encourage parents to participate in any and all school activities. We know it takes a team to help children grow and learn, and we are pleased to have you as part of our team!

Dianna Batt, Principal
