Dear Deterding Parents & Community,

Welcome to Deterding Elementary School!   We are thrilled you have come to visit our school's webpage.  The staff and parents of Deterding are very proud of the program that has been developed here.

Deterding Elementary believes it is our responsibility to nurture the natural curiosities of students through the arts, humanities and the sciences, motivating them to become lifelong learners.  Deterding students will be critical thinkers and effective communicators who embrace challenges without fear of failure and grow into leaders who approach new situations with confidence and compassion.

Our academic program is strong and based in standards.  Teachers use up-to-date curriculum along with time tested strategies to involve students and have them increase their skills each day.  Each child participates in our Arts and Music program that includes a dedicated art room with a full time art teacher, a music program that is based in movement to develop understanding of harmony and melody, and a band program where 4th grade students are taught to read music with the recorder, and every 5th and 6th grade student learns an instrument and participates in band.

On our web page, we have included information about our staff, our curriculum and our wonderful art and music program.  You can also read our Bridge newsletter that is sent home twice a month.

Please contact me if you have any questions about our programs  I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Sandra Rangel
