Rapid Learner Program

Deterding Elementary School is one of three sites that house the San Juan Unified School District’s Rapid Learner Program.  At Deterding Elementary, we meet the advanced learning needs of gifted students while stimulating their intellectual curiosity and artistic abilities.  With inquiry-based instruction, students master accelerated skills, then apply their knowledge using critical and creative thinking. Our academic curriculum is interwoven with a strong traditional of excellence in visual and performing arts.  Encouraging new experiences and the sharing of ideas, we are committed to developing each student’s full potential.
