Mind, Body, Heart
Where the Whole Child Matters

Tiger Tales are loaded as files below weekly.  Please look for the specific Tiger Tale and download it to view.  Highlights from the current week are shown below.

Youth Power Corner
The last Youth Power meeting was a great success!  We decorated up to fifty boxes, and they are quickly filling up.  Hurry and bring in the cans before December 1st!  We also have the Give Up A Gift program going.  If you would like to donate, please bring an unwrapped gift.  We want every child to have a great Christmas.  It goes until December 1st.

The first outing for Youth Power will be taking place on November 17th.  Please bring permission slips to Foothill Skate.  Along with the permission slip, you need to bring $4.  If you would like to use in-line skates, please bring an extra $3.  The snack bar is also available and you can bring money for that.

Santa’s Shoppe
is coming to Dewey!
Friday, December 4th

During Santa’s Night at Dewey, the 6th grade class hosts Santa’s Shoppe.  The Shoppe is open to all students/children who would like to purchase holiday gifts for their families & friends.  We collect
gently used and new items prior to Santa’s Night and then price them accordingly to be sold at Santa’s Shoppe.  We are currently collecting items and would love to have anything you feel would be appropriate to sell in the Santa’s Shoppe.  Please deliver the items to Cyndi Hammonds in the computer lab at Dewey or call Heidi Ursino at 916-505-6554 to make
arrangements for alternative drop off or pick up.
We appreciate your help!

All monies earned at Santa’s Shoppe are used to help send the 6th grade students to Point Bonita.

PARENT ZANGLE CONNENTION:
San Juan Unified School District has a new Student Information System—Zangle.  As a parent, you have the opportunity to check important information about your child online.  At this time, for the elementary students, Zangle Connection can be accessed for attendance information, report cards and testing.  Not all of this information has been imported into Zangle but the process is ongoing.

Follow these simple steps to log into the system for information regarding your child.
1.    Obtain a log in and password from the school office.  You will need to provide picture ID to receive that information.  Each parent has a different log in and password.
2.    Go to www.sanjuan.edu and select Parent Portal.  You will then need to provide the log in and password you received.
At this time, the on-line grade book has not been enabled for Elementary students.  Our information indicates that it will be about 2 years before that piece is available.

Please be advised that unauthorized videotaping is not allowed on Dewey School Campus.  This includes video taken with a video camera, a cell phone or any other recording device.  Authorized videotaping would include classroom presentations or school wide activities, such as the awards assembly.  Please check with your student’s teacher or the office if you have any questions on this policy.
