Success at El Camino is dependent upon attendance!
By law, the only excused absences are illness, medical/dental, family funeral, court appearances, and religious observances. All other absences are unexcused !!! Medical and dental appointments should be scheduled outside the school day whenever possible.
Students must bring a doctor’s note for illness beyond 10 days per year.
ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES:
**Students have two school days to clear absences**
-by a phone call to the Attendance Office by a parent or legal guardian
The Attendance Office phone number is 971-7588 accessible 24 hours a day
Please give the following information when leaving a telephone message:
- in a loud, clear voice
• name of person leaving the message
• student’s first and last name (and the spelling of both)
• relationship of person to student calling (mother, father, guardian, aunt, grandmother, etc.)
• date(s) of absence(s)
• give reason, e.g., ill, medical apt, business apt, etc.
