SENIORS

·         If you did not have your senior portrait taken over the summer, there is still time to be included in this year’s yearbook. Get your portrait taken at Studio Monet as soon as possible. Only portraits from Studio Monet will be in the yearbook due to El Camino’s contract with that specific company.

Contact: Studio Monet, 4131 Power inn Road Suite A, Sacramento, CA, 95826; Phone: 916-454-3888;             www.studiomonetportraits.com

·         Remember to buy senior ads (Diapers to Diplomas) by the end of the first semester. See the yearbook webpage at El Camino’s online school site. Drop off all payments and materials to the Finance Office. (Ahlgren)

·         The November 30th application deadline for the CSU and UC system is rapidly approaching. Since Thanksgiving Break is the week before the deadline, be sure to see your counselor by November 20th. (Fowler)

·         Also, mid-December deadlines for Private and Independent Universities are a month or less away! Remember:  a request for a counselor to complete a secondary report and/or write a letter of recommendation for your college applications must be submitted 3-4 weeks in advance of the December deadline. Counselors are available for college preparation before and after school, and during lunch. (Stevens)

·         Boys and Girls State Program: The American Legion Boys State and the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State are the premier programs for teaching students how the government works while developing leadership skills and an appreciation for the rights of citizens. For more information on this excellent program, as well as state scholarships to help pay for the cost of attendance, please visit http://www.boysandgirlsstate.org/ (King)
