    Girls Volleyball Finals - November 19th, Thursday. 6 p.m. at UC Davis. Go to CIF Sac-Joaquin Section and click on Playoffs on the left to get more information.

    Cross-Country Team State Finals - November 27th, Friday. Woodward Park.

    Final deadline for Calif. State Univ.  or Univ. or Calif. applications - November 30th, Monday.  Please be advised that the week prior to this deadline is Thanksgiving Break and counselors will not be available.

    PTSA & ANG Committee Looking for Bingo Volunteers - Working Bingo nights is one of the major fundraisers for the PTSA and ANG committee. The nights we have assigned to us are 12/3, 1/21, 3/11, 3/25, 4/8, 5/12, 5/19, 7/14 and 7/21. If you can work any of these nights, please contact colleen Bennett or Jennifer Bast.

    • 2009-10 PTSA Membership
      The Executive Board would like to the many families who have joined PTSA this year and invite you to its meetings held on the third Monday of every month at 7 p.m.  For those of you still want to become members or to donate to PTSA or if you'd like to verify that we have received your dues and/or donation, you can find the form and membership list under Related Files.

    • All Night Grad (ANG) Event
      The ANG Committee has already begun planning the 2010 ANG event! Buy your ticket now at the early bird price of $50 ... it will be one less thing to pay for when other costs for your graduating senior starts to come in at the end of the year! Turn in the completed ticket order form and accompanying check when the ANG committee announces that they will have a table set up during lunch. The ANG committee is also looking for donations...monetary, food/drinks/snacks, services (such as a DJ) or even door prizes such as electronics, gift certificates, etc. to make this safe and sober event a fun one.     • Booster Club Volunteer Opportunities!
      We are looking for volunteers to help kick start the planning activities for the annual crab feed fundraiser.  Two other areas that need your help are the ECHS Alumni Association and the Turf Field Committee.  If you want to know what it's all about and where you might be able to lend your help, come to a Booster meeting held the first Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the school library.

    • Booster Club Bonus Plan Opportunity - The El Camino Boosters Club has decided to show it’s appreciation for all the clubs, groups and sports that currently support the Boosters club by offering a CASH bonus plan. Starting with our next meeting every group has the opportunity to receive $100.00 PER MONTH into their Boosters account. In order to do this, each group will need to have a representative at the monthly Booster Club meeting AND have a representative serve on at least one Booster committee. This is a trial period for this program and we hope to be able to offer it again next school year! Please read our information flier under Related Filesfor all the details of this plan.

    • Crab Feed Auction Fundraiser Date - Mark your calendars now! March 6th is the chosen date. Tickets ($50/person) will go on sale January 4th.

    • Fall Sports Award Nights - November 16th & 17th
      This has been a very successful fall season for many of the sports team this year.  The Boys Soccer team has won the first ever Division III Section Title!  The Girls Volleyball and the Cross Country team are still marching forward in their bid to win their championship games. The following athletes were awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Most Improved Player (MIP) trophies, along with Lineman of the Year for football and coaches' award for waterpolo.  Congratulations to these outstanding athletes!

    Referral Driving School - Support the Cheer Squads!
    Is it time to get your driver's license? Take your Classroom Driver's Education course online at Referral Driving School and support the EC Cheer Squads. The price is $25 for the online program, final exam, and issuance of the DMV certificate of completion. Your $25 fee will be donated to EC Cheer. Log on to www.newdriver.com to register. Enter El Camino Cheer in the field that says 'How did you hear about us?' Drive Smart, Drive Safe!


    El Camino Wrestling Holiday Fundraiser
    It’s hard to believe, but the holidays are just around the corner. So…let the El Camino High Wrestling Team assist you in decorating your home or business during this joyful time of the year. This is a perfect way to surprise family, friends, neighbors, teachers or as a gift for customers, clients and employees. Your purchase of one or more Poinsettias will help support El Camino High Schools Wrestling Program. The order form can be found under Related Files and it must be turned in by Tuesday, December 1st. You may mail the completed form with payment to: c/o Marlyn Dorowski, 3052 Bertis Drive, Sacramento CA 95821 or, you may also send or drop-off your check, at the Principal's Office at El Camino. Your Poinsettias will be available for pick up on Monday, December 7th from 2:00pm to 4:pm in the drop off area in front of the large gym. Arrangements can be made for delivery on orders of 6 or more.

    Kids Cheer Clinic Coming in January!
    Spread the word ... the EC Cheer Squads are offering a Kid's Cheer Clinic on Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to noon for kids kindergarten through 8th grade. The cost is $25 per student. Attendees of the clinic are invited to perform at the ECHS girls JV basketball half-time show on January 14th. Questions?     El Camino HS Sports News

    • Congratulations to the Boys Soccer Team on winning the Division III Section Championships last Saturday against Rio Americano HS!  This is a historic first for the EC Soccer team. WAY TO GO EAGLES!

    • Girls Volleyball - Congratulations to the E'gals on their win over Sonora Tuesday night! The girls will be playing St. Mary's at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 19th in UC Davis. 

    • Cross-Country Section Finals - Chris Kigar won the 1st Place individual Div. III Title, followed by Robby Potter 4th, Mustafa Abbas 6th, and Peter Chester 11th with Var. Boys taking the 2nd place trophy for Div. III, and Chris Kigar 2nd Place in all Divisions entire field. The Frosh Boys team also placed 2nd in the Div. 3 Frosh race led by Michael Meegan and Matthew Ramos. Adam Eccleston was 15th in the JV Boys race and Tristan Novis placed 3rd in the Soph Boys race. Var. Girls placed 7th with Neysa Mains qualifying for State and overall. The El Camino Cross Country team did a fantastic job at the Section Championship and is off to State Finals at Woodward Park in Fresno Sat. 11/27. Go to  CIF Sac-Joaquin Section and click on Playoffs for all the details.   GO EAGLES!!!

    Aerie Yearbook On Sale
    The Aerie yearbook price has gone up to $85! Start thinking about those senior/diaper-to-diploma ads for that special student.  Businesses can also advertise in the yearbook.  Go to  Yearbook Class web page for all the details!  Your child can bring a check the Finance Office and get a receipt.

      • Seniors - CSU and UC application deadline (November 30th)reminder, information on the Common Application, accepted at 391 colleges throughout the U.S., and graduation check letter information.
      • Juniors - PSAT results available shortly after winter break and families of students in jeopardy of not graduating with their class to be contacted.
      • Sophomores - 4-year planning with students to begin week of Nov. 9th.
      • Freshmen - An additional part-time counselor will work with students needing additional academic support. Freshmen grades do count...you fail a class, you can't advance to the next level!

    • The Virtual College Fair <--- This is a web site recommended by the Counseling Office as a resource for juniors & seniors and their parents. You can meet hundreds of colleges live to help you pick the perfect one for you, get admissions questions answered in real time, hear expert advice on test prep,application essays, and discover ways to pay for college. The best of all...it's free, just sign up!

    • Financial Aid for College Workshops (November 2009 - January 2010) - These workshops cover the 2010-11 financial aid application process, eligibility rules, how to estimate your own eligibility, types of financial aid (including grants, scholarships, work and loan), interpreting the financial aid offer, reporting special circumstances, cost-saving hints and other valuable tips. The presenter, Mary Gill, is an expert in student financial aid and has provided community-service workshops on financial aid for over 25 years in the Sacramento community. The workshop at El Camino HS will be held on Tuesday, December 8th from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.     Prep Smarter with B&B TestPrep
    B&B TestPrep is considering a weekend SAT prep class to accommodate those families who have difficulty making it to our regular classes during the week. The dates considered will be either the weekend of January 9 and 10 or January 23 and 24 (not both). The class will run 6 to 8 hours each day and the cost will be $275. And, absolutely yes, you can repeat the class at no additional cost. However, we can only run the class if YOU sign up.
