El Camino High School Energy Projects

Departments

  • Library
    • Turns off all monitors at end of day to conserve energy
    • Has a Green Now! "iCenter" with books and online resources about understanding & creating energy alternatives for students and teachers
  • Science Department
    • Environmental issues and climate change awareness are part of the curriculum

Individuals

  • A junior, Annaliese Achtelik, is investigating lighting used at El Camino, and will make a proposal for more efficient lighting
  • Two staff members and one student drive energy-efficient hybrids to school--so far

Whole School

  • Student Clubs
    • Recycling Club recycles paper schoolwide
