Welcome to our Student Council News site!
We meet every Thursday at 8am. 4th and 5th grade students are eligible to be Student Council members or officers. Members and officers are required to attend every meeting unless notified otherwise by teacher advisors. If they will miss a meeting they must tell teacher advisors at least 24 hours in advance.
Any student can talk to our members or officers and add topics to our discussion. Here are some projects we are working on:
*To Be Announced
* To promote reading and the principles of IB, Student Council members will read IB related books aloud to classes on Earth Day.
* Earth Day 4/22- Bring in as many aluminum and plastic recycling items as possible to help earn money for our school and a prize for your class!

The San Juan Unified School District is once again offering all children 18 and younger free meals this summer as part of its annual Summer Fun Café. The café will be found at six locations throughout the community.
Big changes are underway in your students’ classrooms: 46 states across the country have adopted key academic standards that will replace current California standards in English/language arts and math.
The goal of the rigorous Common Core State Standards is to instill the 21st century, higher-thinking skills that prepare all students for college and their careers - as well as to succeed in a global economy and society.
