Regional Occupational Program (ROP)
Regional Occupational Program (ROP)
ROP offers tuition-free career preparation training through the Sacramento County Office of Education. ROP classes are open to anyone 16 years of age or older. ROP provides hands-on, unpaid training designed to furnish students with entry-level marketable skills. Students explore career choices and obtain training in a specific career field. Most ROP courses include placement at a training site in the community.
Regional Occupational Programs are taught through a series of lecture, group activities, project-based learning and job-related internship experiences. Students will learn résumé writing, application completion, communication, interview skills, and job search techniques. Career and technical standards infused with academic standards and workplace learning prepare students for success in the workplace as well as post-secondary education.
