Welcome to the LeGette Library!
The LeGette library is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Classes in grades 1-6 visit the library every week during an assigned time. During their library visit, students are introduced to various authors, genres, or given instruction in research and library skills. It is the responsibility of each student to take care of their library books and to return them on time.
Library Helpers: Please let us know if you would like to help in the library. We can always use help checking books in/out and shelving books during your child's weekly class visit. Check with the librarian or the school office for more information.
Author Day: LeGette students will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week with a special Author Day! Author Karen Burnett will be spending the day at LeGette on Tuesday, October 20. Ms. Burnett’s books celebrate the individuality of children and offer suggestions for issues found in everyday life. Her books focus on accepting oneself and others, strategies for coping with teasing and put-downs, and making good choices throughout life. Information about Ms. Burnett’s books will be sent home soon with students. Families can also visit Ms. Burnett’s website for additional information: www.grandmarose.com
Scholastic Book Fair: The students of LeGette will be reading "Around the World" at the annual LeGette Book Fair. The book fair will begin on Monday, November 16 and will end after school on Thursday, November 19. This year’s book fair promises to be an exciting journey you won’t want to miss! Watch the Blue News for more information.
Student Council Used Book Sale: The LeGette Student Council will be hosting a used book sale the week of November 16 - November 19. Donations of used books may be dropped off in the school library.
