Student Assistance Program (SAP)
The Student Assistance Program (SAP) identifies students experiencing problems with school success, through anonymous referral by staff, parents, peers, community members, or by self-referral. The SAP specialist interviews students to determine need and provide resources and referrals to both district and community services. Support groups that meet on campus during school hours include: Anger Management, Stress Managament, Conflict Resolution, Tobacco Cessation, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Recovery Group (Clean and Sober for over 30 days), Teen Relationships, and 7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens.
Student Assistance Program Coordinator: Jolie "Jo" Leininger Jo Leininger has worked for 2 years as the Mesa Verde SAP specialist. She is a school community intervention specialist with a Bachelors degree in Social Work.
