Mission’s Discipline Policy
The philosophy of Mission Avenue Open School is based on the concept of individual and shared responsibility, acceptance of others, and understanding of self-discipline. Discipline is systematic training. The ultimate goal is positive self-discipline with each student accepting the responsibility for his/her actions.
Mission Avenue Open School students assume personal responsibility for their conduct. As a member of the student body, each student is obligated to be considerate and respectful of fellow students, teachers, other staff members, visitors and parents. Each student is expected to assume these responsibilities in order to be an integral part of the school community.
Students are also expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the San Juan Unified School District’s policy on student behavior, school rules, and each classroom’s rules.
