Mission Avenue Support Team
What is MAST? Good question! Mission Avenue Support Team is a group of parents at Mission Avenue Open School, who, through fundraising, support Mission in a variety of ways. In previous years, MAST has increased our Art teacher’s budget, and provided a salary for our technology support personnel, Janis Tapping. MAST plans on doing the same this school year. MAST also helped purchased new student computers, and new digital cameras for each class. This year we are working to upgrade more student computers in the classrooms.
SCRIP
Although we are no longer keeping stock on hand, we are still offering SCRIP as special orders. How does this work? Another good question!
- You can find our Special Order catalog in the office, or on the Mission website: www.sanjuan.edu/Mission.
- You can put your order in the envelope in the office. Please include a check stapled to the form with your order, made payable to MAST (and especially don’t forget when you are ordering online, to drop a check into the office!)
- A new way to place your order is still in its trial phase. You may go straight to our vendor at: www.shopwithscrip.com using the enrollment code: 3195A7949981. If you have any questions, contact our purchaser, Diane Moyle, at 483-7352.
We will accept special orders once a month, on the first Friday of the month.
If there is something you are interested in buying that we don’t currently offer, please drop us a note at our email address. If there is enough interest, we can add it to our line-up!
eScrip
eScrip is an easy way to fundraise for Mission! Our main eScrip program at Mission is the Raleys/Bel Air Quality of Life cards. Our school received $3,326 last school year from you doing nothing more than shopping at Raleys/Bel Air and having your card swiped at the register. The program deposits money to us directly! What a deal! All that is asked of you, our parents, is to make sure your card is registered at Raleys.com or Belair.com, and have Mission Avenue Open School designated as your school of choice. Extra cards are currently available in the office, and more cards will be arriving soon!
Along these lines, we will be receiving similar cards from Save Mart soon, to be used in the same fashion. Look for an update on this new program.
Cell phone Recycling
We have received over 20 cell phones so far, to be recycled with the monies earned going toward supporting our school. We will continue to collect phones throughout the school year. There is a collection box in our school library.
