In 1979 at the 50th Reunion of the Class of 1929, several members were discussing forming a foundation to support San Juan High School. After contacting some reps from some other classes, the San Juan Alumni Association was established in 1980. The original founders were Nick Tomich and Armas Seppenon, with six other members.
Fast forward to 2009, in their 29th year, they will have awarded $180,000 in scholarships to San Juan students, all from donations of San Juan alumni and faculty. Annual dues are $10 per person or $15 for a San Juan Couple. Membership includes a three alumni newsletters a year. Many events are held throughout the year that include San Juan students & alumni, including the Homecoming Football game. Every two years a San Juan ALL-CLASS Reunion Picnic is held for Alumni, Students, Past & Present Faculty and their families to attend.
