Dear Oakview Community,
It is my great pleasure to introduce myself as your new principal. I am extremely excited about this opportunity to join your family and couldn’t be more proud to now call myself an Oakview Cougar!
For the nearly two decades I have worked in education, I have always emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and transparent lines between our schools and homes. Oakview has a long history of being a place where children are nurtured to believe in themselves and to find value in being active members of the community. I plan to continue this tradition and use my strengths to help guide our students in achieving their full potential.
My philosophy is simple; together we succeed. Both inside and out of our classrooms, our students are successful because we follow a shared vision and work to set and achieve rigorous goals. In my role as your instructional leader, I will support our teachers’ efforts in delivering high quality instruction by being visible on campus and providing supportive feedback on a daily basis. Interacting with teachers and students is one of my greatest joys.
On behalf of Oakview I also want to thank Trudy Erickson for taking such good care of everyone. I am amazed at how smooth the year has begun and at the level of care she has shown during this time of transition. She truly has a huge heart and is a perfect example of a caring leader.
My first official day is September 17, so make sure to come by and say hello. You are also invited to our next Parent Teacher Committee meeting on October 7, it is a great time to interact and talk about all things Oakview.
Together we will make this school year a great success. I look forward to getting to know you and your families both at school and in the community, as well as, introducing my family to all of you. Please know my door is always open, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Rich Sullivan, Principal
