Louis Pasteur Fundamental Middle School

Our school is organized into four interdisciplinary teams. The two seventh grade teams are the Bengal Tigers and the Saber Tooth Tigers.   The two eighth grade teams are the Sumatran Tigers and the Siberian Tigers. Within these teams, we offer five levels of curriculum: High Achiever, XL, AVID, Grade Level, to Intervention support. Each of these academic programs utilizes standards based instructional strategies and standards based materials, creating a challenging environment and maintaining high expectations for our students academically and behaviorally.

To compliment our academic program, Louis Pasteur offers a full exploratory and fine arts program. We also offer a one year Spanish curriculum. The school maintains an extensive technology plan, including three full computer labs, computers in every classroom, and a full integration of use of technology tools within our academic program.

Student activities are encouraged at Louis Pasteur. With support from our PTA and Student Council, we are offering many opportunities for our students to interact outside the classroom setting. Please refer to the binder reminder for upcoming events. The sports programs are coordinated by the Orangevale Park District. You may call Orangevale Park District at 988-4373 for detailed information on their sports programs. Fall and Spring sports are available for 7th and 8th grade boys and girls.

Pasteur parents are expected to take an active role in the education of their children. We currently have the largest and most active PTA in the San Juan Unified School District. We try to maintain extensive communication systems for our parents. This system includes homework hotline/voice mail, PTA newsletters, quarterly Principal's letters (emailed home), quarterly progress reports, report cards, regular conference days, phone calls from teachers, and binder reminders for parents and students. Parents are the keys to success and are invaluable partners with our teachers.

Louis Pasteur is a wonderful place for our students and is constantly growing and improving. Our test scores have been consistently rising and our academic programs are adjusted yearly to meet the needs of students, ensuring their success.
