Rio Americano student named to 2010 All-State Honor Band

Senior Zachary Giberson was recently named to the 2010 All-State Honor Band after competing via taped audition with more than 1,500 other applicants. Giberson will be a member of one of seven honor groups which include four high school concert bands and one high school jazz band.

Rio Wins Mayor's Service Award & Speech Competition

At a meeting commemorating Martin Luther King and rounding up his 2009 Volunteer Challenge, Mayor Kevin Johnson announced that Rio Americano High School won the three-month high school challenge with 6,250 hours of community service.
