SCHOLAR ATHLETE PROGRAM
Rio Americano Athletic Boosters is proud to sponsor the Scholar Athlete program. The Scholar Athlete recognition is awarded to Rio athletes who achieve a weighted 3.3 or greater GPA for the same semester in which they participate in a school sport.
Those Scholar Athletes who are recognized for this achievement receive a variety of benefits including a Certificate which can be included in the your resume’ when applying for a college or employment, a visit to Raley Field where they will be recognized for their accomplishment at a varsity baseball game, and the pride of knowing they are accomplished in both sports and education.

Each year a few deserving students names are unintentionally omitted from the first run of creating the list of Scholar Athletes. This occurs due to the complexities of compiling the information and the efforts of SJUSD to protect confidential student information. Please do not be offended, as this can be corrected. If you believe a student was left off the list who deserves the award please submit the name so we can amend the list.
