  • Rio Americano Swim & Dive Team wins the Capital Athletic League championship

    The Rio Americano Swim & Dive Team won it's 13th consecutive Capital Athletic League championship in dramatic fashion this past weekend breaking eight CAL league records! A league-high 18 different Raiders were selected All-League including League MVP's Alexander Kapphahn (Sr) and Lizzie Menzmer (Fr). The Raiders are now preparing for the CIF-SJS Section Championship where they have 30 swimmers and 3 divers qualified to compete. in dramatic fashion this past weekend breaking eight CAL league records!   • National Honor for Rio's AM Jazz Ensemble

    Rio’s AM Jazz Ensemble has been selected from a nationwide pool of applicants for an "Outstanding Large Jazz Ensemble" Student Musician Award from Downbeat Magazine. Downbeat has been the recognized magazine of record in the jazz community since the 1930's. AM Jazz Ensemble has previously received Downbeat Awards in 1998, 2011 and 2013. Congratulations to the Rio students selected, and to Mr. Murray and Mr. Kiesner for their outstanding leadership.
