An item from the January minutes addressed improving communications by having students read the weekly bulletin over the PA system. That action has not occurred yet. Karen Cassady and Christy Thomas are working on accomplishing that goal.

Principal’s report:
District re-benchmarked the budget. The district reduced the supply budget by $1826 to $9650.92.
Everything in the donation account is designated to be spent on something.
There is $11,340.87 in the Furniture & Equipment budget.
$999 will be used for wireless in the H-wing.
The marquee is working again thanks to some engineers from Aerojet who implemented temporary repairs.

The athletic booster’s dinner is in April. $24,000 is needed to pay coaches this Spring. There is a meeting the 1st Monday in March and a letter requesting support for athletics will be send to all families.

Personnel changes:
Rio’s has a new vice principal, Tanya Bringuel, who was the lead councilor at Del Campo.
Biology teacher Jeff Macklem is filling in until the end of the year.
English teacher Kelly Lewis is back from an extended leave.
Ceramics teacher Rene Worley has been permanently assigned to Rio and the previous ceramics teacher, Susan Morrison is working at Del Campo.

The results of the teacher vote on the later start time were 57% for no change and 43% for a later start time.

An integrity issue involving students posting answers on a Facebook group was brought to the attention of the administration. There was some discussion of Tactic #4 in the Strategic Plan which addresses the school fostering a culture of integrity and ethical behavior. Action Plan #5 is to have a group of students, parents and staff to work to implement support of Tactic #4.

New Business:
The next Site Council meeting will call for an election of a new chairperson.
Karen Cassady will send an email to the Site Council members to notify them of the election of a chairperson at the next meeting.

A motion was made by Austin to adjourn the meeting.
The motion was seconded by Christy.
