The Howe Avenue Toy Drive is under way, so start shopping for presents within the $10 range. Gifts will be collected in your third period classes and are due no later than Friday, December 11. If your third period class did not adopt a Howe Avenue class, please deliver your toy to Seibel’s room, A2. We also need wrapping paper, tape, and name tags.
Civitas News - Freshmen students interested in politics, government, and community service are invited to apply to the Civitas program for the second semester. Applications now available in counseling, main office and online at riocivitas.com. See Mrs. Reed in room A-6 or Miss Chapralis in room B-14 for more details.
The PLAN will be administered at Rio this year on Saturday, December 5 at 7:30 am. The PLAN is an assessment that prepares students for future college entrance exams. Sign up at the Finance office for $15 through Wednesday. Bring water, receipt, and a calculator.
B&B TestPrep is considering a weekend SAT prep class to accommodate those families who have difficulty making it to our regular classes during the week. The dates considered will be either the weekend of January 9 and 10 or January 23 or 24 (not both). We can only run the class if YOU sign up. ROP news: Students considering ROP for the Spring semester should stop by the ROP office this month to enroll. Additionally, any student considering Medical Assisting or Fire Science for next Fall should also stop by. Ms. Tessier is on campus on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings in room H1.
