Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is a wonderful program run through our library! AR offers students the opportunity to "test" their comprehension after they read a library book.

Students' reading levels are determined at the beginning of each year. They are informed of their reading range and then given direction on which books might interest them. Each book is given a reading level and a point value. Books are then identified by colored dots so students can easily find books within their range. Once a student completes a book, he or she can visit the library and take an AR test. Tests range from 5-20 questions. After the test is complete, students receive a printout of their score, their total points acquired and the number of tests passed.

English teachers set goals for their students and those students reaching those goals can receive a free dress day! In addition, point goals are set in the library and once a student acquires ten points, a star is earned. Students then put their names on their stars and place them on the Wall Of Fame!

If you are interested in seeing which books are available to your student, please check the link below. We offer over 4000 titles!
