The first month of school has gone by quickly and your children have demonstrated their readiness to get into routines and learning habits. It is always an exciting time as friends see each other again and settle into a new classroom with new curriculum and opportunities to grow.

This summer the entire credentialed teaching staff attended a week-long training on Writer’s Workshop. Schweitzer is among ten other schools in SJUSD who are implementing this standards and research-based methodology. Teachers will share the expectations with students and families as we begin the journey of creating a community of writers. This is an exciting opportunity for all children to become successful writers.
