Principal's Message
Sierra Nueva Continuation High School was established in 1975 to provide expectant and parenting students an opportunity to continue their education in a supportive environment. Sierra Nueva provides students with regular academic classes, expectant/parenting education, and is committed to vocational education. Our school is voluntary and we encourage our students to actively participate in managing their academic courses necessary for obtaining their high school diploma which helps them develop responsibility and self respect.
At Sierra Nueva, our teachers provide creative teaching that inspires and motivates our students. Students are given the opportunity to complete credits in their subject areas.
The California School Age Family Education (Cal SAFE) program provides a variety of services designed to support expectant and parenting students attending all district schools. We utilize community based services as well as university interns to support our students in their parenting experience as well as their academic career. Students can stay enrolled until the semester after their 19th birthday or until they are 22 years old with an active IEP.
Our school is small and staff provide evening activities so that students, their children, and families can actively participate in our special events that we believe will create an everlasting memory with our students.
