The Middle School Teachers

Sierra Oaks is excited to welcome you to the 2009-2010 school year.

Our Middle School team is committed to make sure each student reaches his or her potential in the safe environment of Sierra Oaks.

Seventh and Eighth grade teachers,  Mrs. Vanessa Liby and Mr. Todd Lewis, have planned a strong academic program in History and Language Arts to meet the needs of all students.  Their curriculum is challenging, sometimes frustrating but always engaging!  Their goal is to plant a love reading. Through reading, the world is yours!

All math in 7th and 8th grade will be taught by Mr. Jeff Le.  Mr. Le will support students in the quest for understanding of Pre-Algebra or Algebra.  The Promethean White Board installed last year by PTA donations, will be used regularly to help student gain the mathematical knowledge they need for the 21st century.

Room 6 is the Sierra Oaks Science lab led by Mrs. Monique Davis. Seventh graders will experience labs in Life Sciences as they explore chromosomes, body structures and the delicate functions of the cell.  Eighth graders will create chemical equations to increase their basic knowledge of physical science.  Atoms, protons, neutrons, electrons, - welcome to 8th grade science.

Mrs. Nikki Cater and Mr. Micah Caplan, Sixth grade teachers, have created a year long plan that will launch their students into middle school.

With the help of a wonderful support staff (Mrs. Westover: RSP, Mrs. Harper: Art, Mr. Esterlyn: PE, and Mr. Parr:  Music), the Sierra Oaks middle school program is ready for your student!

We look forward to a wonderful school year!
