No matter what type of technology is used, nothing can be a substitute for a good book in a student's hands. The Sierra Oaks library maintains an updated inventory of fiction and non fiction books for our students. Each student in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade has weekly access to shelves and shelves of books. Our Sierra Oaks media tech, Cheryl Atherley, is on duty to help students find books of interest to keep them reading.
Happy Birthday Club
Join the Birthday Club for $2.00 and get a birthday greeting in the newsletter and a birthday pencil. In addition, you may donate a book in honor of your birthday and have your name inscribed in the book with our Birthday Cake stamp. You may consult with Mrs. Atherley who has a supply of books waiting for sponsorship or you may donate a new book of your choosing. You may join the Birthday Club at any time!!
Boxtops for Education
Please continue collecting the Boxtops for Education symbols from snack foods and other items. We collected over 8,000 symbols last year. Let's see if we can collect 10,000 symbols this year! Proceeds are used to purchase new materials for the library.
