Message from the President
Please excuse the lack of personal thanks from me to all those who worked so diligently on the country fair two weeks ago, with special gratitude to Ann Montgomery and Jamie Price. With the development of the new middle school pages, there wasn’t room for my message! (Kudos to the Middle School Committee keeping the community apprised on the great things happening in our program.) Realizing the economic times, the board budgeted much less than the dynamic duo generated at the country fair, netting close to $10,000 – should have known better with the amazing committee, filled with NEW BLOOD, and headed by Ann and Jamie. A great time was had by all!
To those who hosted the delicious Greek dinner last weekend, efharisto! (Greek for thank you!) What a wonderful party!
By now, you should have received your jogathon pledge packets. Please be sure to send in the release form as soon as possible so that all of our children can participate in this fundraiser. Encourage your children to get out and solicit pledges themselves, as each child is asked to raise $40. Also, please note that on the outside of the classrooms, there are signup sheets requesting volunteers on jogathon Friday, October 23rd. T-shirt sponsorship is officially closed--thank you to those who sponsored the shirts.
Your child should also have brought home the Innisbrook giftwrap packages. Maria Klostrakis has everything in place so that orders can be simply logged into your computer, by following directions attached to the package. The gift wrap is high quality and the school receives 50% profit off of every order. Who doesn’t use gift wrap at some time?
Holiday Boutique is just around the corner, Kirstin Hayes is looking for help in securing raffle prizes geared toward the holidays. If you own a business or are willing to solicit one, please contact her at 612-8351.
A couple other dates to mark on your calendar: January 14 will be Sierra Oaks night at IMAX at which we will make $5 a ticket for the school; Father/Daughter has been scheduled for February 5. Also, please note that PTA meetings will be the first Wednesday evening of every month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to insure the presence of our treasurer--can’t run a meeting without the money lady.
We are still looking for someone to run the e-scrip program! Also, is there anyone out there willing to take the lead in a winter auction? If you haven’t turned in your membership/annual fund donations, please do so. We have over 300 families in the school; please don’t let the efforts rest in the hands of less than fifty.
Enjoy this beautiful fall weekend! As always, any questions or comments, feel free to call me at 224-4976.
Fondly,
Sam Mellor
