Tardy Policy

Sylvan Administration will conduct tardy sweeps throughout the year to ensure that ALL Students are in class and learning.  During a tardy sweep, students found outside class after the tardy bell rings will be given a pitch-in at lunch.  Consequences given during a tardy sweep will complement those assigned by the classroom teacher as listed below.

All students are expected to be quietly seated and ready to begin instruction when the bell rings.  Teacher-assigned consequences for being tardy are listed below:

1           Warning

2           Warning

3           Teacher conferences with student

4           Parent is contacted

5-10     Student goes to PASS for 1 period to write
             Tardy Essay and parent is called from PASS

11+       Home Suspension
