Programs and Classes

We have several program areas and numerous classes that offer a variety of academic options and support learner goals.

Active Adults

Classes are designed for lifelong learning and enriching lives. Classes are offered in computer applications, digital photography, art, sewing, and music. Please see our catalog for titles, topics, and times of classes.

Adult Basic Education (ABE)

These classes are free and teach reading, writing, and math. We have staff who specialize in each area. We can help you. Call or come in today, to start a better tomorrow. 

Adult Secondary Education (ASE) - also referred to as High School Completion

These free classes are designed to help you complete  credits you need get a high school diploma. We have classes that meet our San Juan USD graduation requirements. Curriculum aligns with State Standards, and we require that students pass the CA High School Exit Exam for graduation. Classrooms provide individualized instruction, and are offered day and night to help fit your busy adult life. Students may also consider our Independent Study Program for Adults, where they meet once a week with their teacher, and do the course work at home.

Career Technical Education (CTE) - also referred to as Vocational Training

Classes are designed to provide skills training for the workplace. There are many topics and classes. Please visit (download) our current catalog to see the topics, titles, and costs. 

Distance Learning

Reaching out to our community by offering you learning options in the comfort of your home! You can learn at your own pace. Currently we offer a video and DVD library, live cable programming, and online instruction. With each option you will receive teacher interaction and feedback. For more information, please call  971-7408.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Classes are to learn English. Classes are free. We have several levels to support different student learning needs. Classes provide help in reading, writing, listening, and speaking the English langauge.

Test Preparation for GED and CAHSEE

Free classes to your skills and to prepare you for the GED Test, and the California High School Exit Exam. Please download GED testing information and the current testing schedule.
