Principal's Message: October 29, 2009
I’d like to thank Olivia DeGaton for all her work with our Red Ribbon Week activities. It was a super week. And, wow! What a great Kids’ Night Out and Trunk-or-Treat. I’d like to first thank Jennifer Smith for her overall coordination of this entire event. Without her efforts, this fun event would never have been possible. Additionally, I’d like to thank the following folks: Carrie Newman - Kitchen Coordinator, Dani Glover - Trunk-or-Treat Coordinator, Ric Noell - Community Service Coordinator, Kirsten Wanner, Jennifer Hicks, Emily McMahon, Jimmie Noell, April Mathews, Jill Lucerna, Alicia Jara, Tisha Williams, Brent Lehr, Perry LaRosa, John Gipson, Dan Beck, Jeff Bacal, Julie Briones, Bert Tuma, Paul Ajil, Denise Dungan, Sara Born, Rebecca Wright-Shayegi, Dianne Rogers, Keith & Cindy VanAllen, Stacey Rodriguez, Jennifer Galisatus, Shannon Stone, Trina Batayeh, Michelle Toulouse, Kim Wyatt, Deborah Horton, Sherece Cruz, Ashley Brown, Tobin & Lori George, Isabel Kiniris, Cori and Cindy Glover, Lisa Borchard, Greenfield Family, Laurie Ablog, Kelly Browning & Brian Halstead, Curran Family, Courtney & Leo Del Rio, Melissa Ayres, Patti Chiara, Al Smith, Clyde & Susan Smith, Pat Dayton, Michelle Lewis, Alex & Tara SoRelle, April Meneghetti, Dawn Squire, Billy & Lisa Lambeth, Isabel Fuenteulba, and Julie & Kurt Baer. As you can see, it took a lot of work from a multitude of parents and over 30 student community service workers to make this event possible. Thank you, again, to everyone!
I’m very aware that our earlier start time this year has proven problematic for a number of families. Ironically, many of the families who hold the same values as mentioned previously still have a hard time getting their children to school on-time. This not only greatly impacts their own child’s learning, but the learning of all the other children in their class. All of us at Woodside realize that things come up unexpectedly as you’re walking out the door for school. However, we have too many families consistently getting their children late to school. To these families I simply ask: “What can I do to help you arrive on-time, so your children receive the best education possible?”
As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at school via phone or email.
Thank you!
Mr. Barge
