Overview: The San Juan Unified School is proud to serve more than 40,000 students in 72 schools and special education centers, preschools, and adult education programs in Sacramento County.
The district serves the northeast area of Sacramento County, with 72 schools in Sacramento, Arcade, Arden, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, portions of Folsom, Gold River, and Orangevale.The San Juan Unified School District believes education is a partnership of parents, staff, students, and the community.
The Board of Education has adopted the following vision and mission statements that were developed through the involvement of all segments of our community.
Operational Goals: The focus will continue to be on the three operational goals of the District: - Building a collaborative culture at school sites and across the district which focuses on student learning and evidence of learning results.
- Accelerating implementation of consistent effective instructional practices to support a standards-based educational system.
- Increasing student achievement for all students with a focus on African American, Hispanic/Latino, and low socio-economic students.
Vision Statement All learners will experience a quality educational environment dedicated to developing lifelong learners who are prepared to participate creatively and productively in shaping the future.
Mission Statement The San Juan Unified School District will provide an environment that enables all learners to reach their individual potentials, including the literacy, knowledge, and skills necessary to compete in a global economy, and to exercise the rights and humanitarian responsibilities of citizenship.
