Early Childhood Education
The Early Child Education Department supports the district's goal of excellence in education! High quality services for infants through grade six are provided in free, subsidized, and fee based programs. Part-day and full-day preschool and child care services are available. Appropriate learning experiences and comprehensive student support services ensure smooth transitions into kindergarten. Focus on language, literacy, math and the arts offer a wide variety of learning experiences for all children! Options available include:
INFANT TODDLER/EARLY HEAD START
These programs provide child care or in-home services to eligible low-income and special needs families with children from infancy to age 3, and those experiencing pregnancy. Priority is given to teen parents.
PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS
These programs provide educational and developmental opportunities for children ages 3-5. Free services are available for eligible low-income and special needs families. Early Learning Academy and Gold River Preschool are fee-based programs that are also available.
