The San Juan Unified School District’s Early Childhood Education Discovery Club and School-Age Children's Center programs were created to provide a safe, caring, and educational place for children.
Each of our Discovery Club/School-Age Children's Center teachers hold a Child Development Permit issued through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Our Child Development Assistants have educational courses and/or experience in school-age child care. All Discovery Club/School-Age Children's Center staff has fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice.
The ongoing quality of the Early Childhood Education Discovery Club and School-Age Children's Center programs is guaranteed by the excellent cooperation of committed parents and dedicated staff. We value participation in parent advisory committees, parent meetings, parent conferences, and general support. We are pleased to have an excellent staff who care about children and who work for the best possible program.
Ongoing communication between staff and parents is an essential part of reinforcing the child’s feeling that Discovery Club and School-Age Children's Center is a connection between home and school.
Discovery Club and School-Age Children's Center has an open door policy. Parents/guardians are welcome to visit the program at any time. Visitors in the classroom are expected to follow posted classroom rules and may not interfere with the planned program.
