Blue Newsletter October
QUOTE FOR THE MONTH “You can’t direct the wind but you can adjust the sails.”
A is for ATTENDANCE Attendance is a critical factor in any child’s school success. Children should attend school every day, except in cases of illness or emergency. It is impossible to replace the learning that happens on any school day with make-up work. Regular attendance and promptness are good habits that are expected and appreciated at all levels of schooling and in the workplace. This year, make school a priority in your household. Commit to excellence in attendance. Your child’s future depends on it.
SANTA’S BREAKFAST It may be autumn, but it is time to start planning for Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 12. Please contact Kira Perdue at kcpsunflower@yahoo.com if you have a comfortable, non-rocking chair that Santa can use to visit with the children. Additionally, please contact me if you have any holiday decorations that are in good condition you would like to donate to the event. If you would like to help in other ways with breakfast with Santa, please contact me as well. Look for lots more information about this special event in the upcoming weeks.
TWIN LAKES HALLOWEEN PARADE Twin Lakes’ students will be parading in their Halloween finest on Friday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. on the primary playground. Costumes should be sensible and appropriate. We will not allow any toy/play-type weapons or a display of blood and gore. Students should be able to move freely in their costume and have clear sight through any mask on their face. It would be appropriate for children to dress as their favorite book character, sports hero, or as a famous historical person. Parents and grandparents are welcome to bring their cameras and join the festivities.
MESSAGES TO CLASSROOM Since we value instructional time, we ask that you not call for the office to deliver notes or messages to your children - except in the case of an immediate emergency. Please help us to keep the interruptions to a minimum.
YEARBOOK MEETING Come be a part of documenting another fantastic Twin Lakes year. Working on the Twin Lakes Yearbook is easy and fun. Remember, yearbook staff or not, you can submit your pictures through the quick link on the Twin Lakes website! The more pictures we get, the better our yearbook.
