Carnegie Raises $559.62 for Type 1 Diabetes Research
In true Carnegie community spirit, students and staff donated $559.62 in pocket change to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's annual Walk for a Cure. The donations were hand delivered to the West steps of the State Capitol on Sunday, October 4th by teachers and staff who participated in the walk as part of Team "Dream O.N."

"We want to help fund research that may lead to a cure in our lifetime", said Mr. Weitzel who participated with his family. Mr. Weitzel's son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes this past year and helped to organize the team and fundraising efforts. With Carnegie's help Team Dream O.N. is expected to contribute over $5000.00 to JDRF.
