Open Enrollment and School Visitation & Parent Information Days
Can you believe it? It is Open Enrollment time again for the 2010 - 2011 school year! Please be sure to let your community know about the following Open Enrollment schedule. Also, please remind them that it is mandatory that they attend one Visitation and Parent Information Day. There will be a sign-in sheet to verify attendance.
VISITATION & PARENT INFORMATION DATES (Parents Only Please):
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. (all dates)
Dates: October 27, 2009 (Tues.)
October 28, 2009 (Wed.)
November 6, 2009 (Fri.)
November 10, 2009 (Tues.)
OPEN ENROLLMENT:
November 16, 2009 (Monday) through January 29, 2010 (Friday)

Kindergarten students and students new to the San Juan Unified School District (this includes Mission Avenue Open School) will need to provide the following documents.
- Proof of birth date (original birth certificate or passport)
- Current proof of residence (all three listed below are required)
- Utility bill (SMUD, PG&E, water bill - not telephone)
- Driver's license or ID with current correct address
- Current lease/rental agreement, or escrow papers/current mortgage statement.
Students currently enrolled in the San Juan Unified School District do not need to provide any additional information.
Open enrollment is not on a first-come, first-served basis. A computerized random selection will determine which students are accepted for their choice schools.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: MISSION AVENUE OPEN SCHOOL SIBLING REGISTRATION will not take place at the school site in February as done in the past. All siblings must go through the Open Enrollment process. Siblings will receive first priority if there is an opening in the school of their choice.
