Ottomon Celebrates 32!
Thursday, October 15, 2009, students, staff, parents and special guests celebrated Ottomon's 32 point growth on last year's API!  Principal Dave Cowles led the celebration for the entire student body in the multi-purpose room.  Mr. Barnes shared the talents of 'A Band' with their renditions of several fantastic instrumental songs.
Orangevale's Honorary Mayor was present to be a part of the celebration.  Staff members Lori Davis, Nancy Withers and Karen Giddings each bore witness to the hard work and dedication of the students and staff to increase from 790 the year before to 822 on the state API index.
Music teacher Marilyn Takagishi taught all the classes an incredible song, "We are the Otters!"  All 470 students stood to sing and use hand motions to impress our parents.
All of us at Ottomon are so proud of our students, staff and parents for the improvement and all have vowed to continue the rise!
