ENCINA GALLERY SHOW AND FESTIVAL A HUGE SUCCESS!

We had a wonderful time celebrating "El Dia de los Muertos" with the Encina community- students, parents, teachers and school neighbors! The only thing missing was...YOU!

Put it on your calendar for next year and, in the meantime, enjoy the pictures posted below. The gallery exhibit will be open until the end of November. Please stop by to take a look and perhaps do some of your holiday shopping at the same time!

Memory Wall- students were signing it all day long.

Getting ready for the show.

Last minute preparations- family and friends begin to arrive in the ceramics studio.

Thanks, Ms. Gray, for your help in setting up the show!

Tagging the exhibits in the gallery- Encina alum Jeff Williams returns to help out.

SE corner of the gallery awaits its tags....

...as does the NE corner.

Students enjoying the ambience.

Music provided by local radio station Latino 97.9. Many thanks to them for enhancing our atmosphere.

The altar for Carmen Bohannon's father is visited by his granddaughter.

Did it 'thrill' them? Were they part of the 50,000 worldwide setting a record?

Thank you to the many helpers who made "El Dia de los Muertos" Art Show and Festival such a success. Many students and parents helped out; special thanks go to Yadira Ortega and her mom, Jonathan Martinez and his mom, Chelsea Dominguez Leonard and her family, and the Valenzuela family. Enjoy the pictures and don't forget to put it on your calendar for next year!
