THE OPEN ENROLLMENT LOTTERY FOR 2017-2018 HAS CLOSED!
For Grades Kindergarten through 12th
(Parents will be notified by letter of the Open Enrollment Lottery results in February 2017)
THE OPEN ENROLLMENT LOTTERY IS ONLY FOR RESIDENTS of SJUSD
The San Juan Unified School District (SJUSD) is pleased to offer parents a choice of excellent schools. Families who reside in the San Juan Unified School District have the opportunity to enroll students in any of the District’s schools providing:
- Space is available in the appropriate program. (Available space is determined by defined physical and program capacity of the school after placement of enrolled resident students) AND,
- Families are willing to provide transportation.
Open enrollment is a process to request a school other than your neighborhood school or to return to your neighborhood school following a transfer. Once you receive your open enrollment results, you will be assigned to your school of choice which becomes your residence school or placed on the waiting list for that site.
Open Enrollment is NOT on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis. A computerized random selection will determine which students are accepted for their choice schools.
Parents will need to submit a separate request for each child.
What if you missed the Open Enrollment Lottery?
Residents of SJUSD would need to submit an INTRA district transfer request during the priority window of March 1- May 1, 2017 to request a different school for the school year of 2017-2018.
