Arts & Crafts Fair
The School¹s Indigenous People¹s Club sponsors the fair. The club has about twenty - five students from Native American, Hispanic and other ethnic backgrounds. The students use the Arts and Crafts Fair as a fundraiser. The funds are used for fieldtrips to college motivation workshops, cultural events such as California Big Times, Pow Wows, American Indian Film Festivals, Cesar Chavez Day and local museums and colleges. The advisors of the club hope: · to have students from all backgrounds learn more about the cultures of indigenous people of the western hemisphere · students will increase their academic status through cultural pride and · to make the school welcoming to Hispanics and Indians so they will be successful
